Our History

Steve and Jean Hanson, owners of MinnClean, have been heavily involved in the cleaning industry since the 1980’s when they started their first commercial cleaning company, Hanson Building Maintenance, Inc. in Boise, Idaho.

After selling the company in 2002 to return to the Midwest to be closer to family, they started Brainerd Lakes Cleaning and Supply in Brainerd, Minnesota. Their most recent expansion in their cleaning business is through MinnClean, which serves the area from St. Cloud to Maple Grove.

In addition, the Hanson’s founded the online community, The Janitorial Store™ in 2005, which mentors people who either own a cleaning business or are considering starting their own cleaning business. This active community is for those who are serious about building a more profitable and successful business. The Hanson’s goal is to give back to the industry by providing their members with all the tools and resources they need to achieve their dream of running a successful cleaning business -- without having to learn it all the hard way.
